LATISSE® Solution is a prescription product designed to help people grow longer and darker eyelashes. FDA approval for Latisse was granted in December 2008 for the treatment of hypotrichosis.
LATISSE® Solution: Who is a good candidate?
If you have short or sparse upper eyelashes and desire longer, darker and thicker lashes, LATISSE® Solution may be a good choice for you.
Many individuals would prefer to have bold eyelashes without applying mascara every day. These patients may be ideal candidates for LATISSE® Solution eyelash enhancement. Studies show that roughly 80 percent of LATISSE® Solution users achieve a significant increase in length, darkness, and fullness of their eyelashes.
Where can I get LATISSE® Solution?
You can obtain LATISSE® Solution from Dr. Bogue after a standard examination to review your medical history. Potential side effects will be discussed during your consultation. Once you have been instructed on proper LATISSE® Solution application, we provide you with your Latisse.
Using LATISSE® Solution Properly
Applying LATISSE® Solution is a simple process. The solution is applied directly along the base of your upper eyelashes once a day with a small, easy-to-use applicator. A tissue will dab any excess from around your eyes. Do not use LATISSE® Solution on your lower lashes or eyebrows. If you wear contact lenses, you should remove them before applying LATISSE® Solution to your upper lashes. Wait 15 minutes to put them back in.
After Using LATISSE® Solution: What to Expect
You should see results between 8 and 6 weeks after you begin your daily at-home application of LATISSE® Solution. In 16 weeks, you should see the full effects of LATISSE® Solution. LATISSE® Solution is not a permanent solution for short, sparse eyelashes. It works while you use it, but your lashes will regress to their natural state if you stop using it.
Approximately 4 percent of LATISSE® Solution users report itching and/or eye redness, which are temporary. Less common are side effects that may occur on the skin near your eyes, such as skin darkening or irritation. Be sure to apply LATISSE® Solution as instructed to minimize your chance of side effects.
