BOTOX works the same way in men and women, but treatment should be individualized for muscle strength, brow position, facial anatomy, and the patient’s desired result. Dr. Bogue focuses on softening selected expression lines without creating an overtreated or unnatural appearance.
Men may seek BOTOX because frown lines, forehead creases, or crow’s feet make them look more tired, stern, or older than they feel. Gender alone does not determine the injection pattern. Dr. Bogue observes how the patient’s muscles move and recommends treatment based on anatomy rather than a standard template.
Which Areas Can Be Treated?
Dr. Bogue treats three BOTOX areas:
- Forehead: horizontal lines caused by raising the eyebrows
- Glabella: frown lines between the eyebrows, including bunny lines when appropriate
- Crow’s feet: expression lines around the outer corners of the eyes
BOTOX is not a filler and does not restore lost facial volume. Lines caused primarily by volume loss, skin texture, or laxity may require a different approach.
Will BOTOX Make a Man’s Face Look Frozen?
The goal is not to eliminate all expression. A natural result depends on choosing the correct muscles, placing the injections precisely, and balancing the treated areas with the untreated muscles. Dr. Bogue adjusts the plan for the individual patient’s muscle activity and brow position.
Do Men Need More BOTOX?
Some men have stronger or larger facial muscles, but this is not universal. Dr. Bogue bases treatment on observed muscle strength and movement rather than assuming every male patient needs more product. His flat-rate pricing is based on the treatment area, not a predetermined number of units.
How Long Does BOTOX Last for Men?
BOTOX generally lasts four to six months. Patients may begin seeing an effect within three to five days. Duration varies by muscle activity, treatment area, anatomy, and individual response. Many patients return two to four times per year as unwanted movement gradually returns.
What Is Recovery Like?
Most patients return to work and normal activities immediately. Small bumps at the injection sites usually fade within about 20 minutes. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, headache, or bruising can occur.
Do not massage the treated areas, and avoid strenuous exercise for the remainder of the treatment day.
How Much Does BOTOX for Men Cost?
The price is the same for men and women: $250 per treatment area. The forehead, glabella, and crow’s feet are each one area; all three are $750. The consultation and one-week follow-up with an appropriate touch-up in the original area are complimentary.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is BOTOX only for older men?
No single age determines candidacy. The relevant questions are whether the concern is caused by treatable muscle activity, whether BOTOX can provide a predictable benefit, and whether treatment fits the patient’s goals.
Can I have treatment during a lunch break?
The injections are performed in the office, and most patients return to ordinary activities immediately. Temporary bumps or redness may remain briefly, and strenuous exercise should wait until the following day.
Who performs the injections?
Dr. Bogue personally performs every BOTOX injection at the practice.
