Our board-certified plastic surgeon offers financing options to give you the opportunity to reach your aesthetic goals for your body affordably. Some of the aspects that play a role in the cost of the tummy tuck surgery include:
1. Tummy Tuck Surgery Fees
When you have an abdominoplasty, the price is the sum of several fees. The plastic surgeon will have a fee for the procedure, which typically includes follow-up visits to ensure proper recovery and satisfactory results. There are fees for the surgical center—which should be an accredited facility where your plastic surgeon has privileges. The anesthesiologist also carries charges. A tummy tuck is performed under general anesthesia, so you’re unconscious during the procedure. There could be an additional cost for compression garments that help during recovery to reduce swelling and promote healing.
2. Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Vs. Cosmetic Surgeon
A cosmetic surgeon is someone with a medical license who chooses to go into cosmetic surgery, which means they may not have the training and experience necessary to deliver your desired results. The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) requires certified plastic surgeons to go through additional training, oral and written exams, and renew the certification every ten years. When you choose an ABPS-certified plastic surgeon, you can trust that you’re in skilled, experienced hands. While a cosmetic surgeon may charge less, a board-certified plastic surgeon, such as our Dr. David Bogue, comes with added security and trust in your results.
Make sure you research your plastic surgeon, read patient reviews, and view before and after tummy tuck photos.
3. The Type of Tummy Tuck & Combination Procedures
Dr. Bogue offers three abdominoplasty options: mini tummy tuck, full abdominoplasty, and extended tummy tuck. The type that is right for you depends on your anatomy and the extent of your concerns, and the cost varies by procedure.
A mini tummy tuck may be appropriate when concerns are limited to the lower abdomen. A full or extended tummy tuck may be recommended when loose skin and contour concerns involve a broader area. The appropriate approach is determined during an in-person evaluation.
Dr. Bogue may recommend combining your tummy tuck with liposuction, which will carry a higher price, but lower overall when you compare the two procedures separately.
