Where Does Dr. Bogue Use BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic can treat several types of expression lines, but Dr. Bogue concentrates on the areas where it consistently produces predictable, natural-looking results. At his Boca Raton practice, he commonly uses BOTOX to treat forehead lines, glabellar frown lines, and crow’s feet.

What Areas Does Dr. Bogue Treat With BOTOX?

Forehead Lines

Horizontal forehead lines develop from repeatedly raising the eyebrows. BOTOX blocks the nerve signals that activate the treated muscles, reducing the motion responsible for these wrinkles.

Treatment must be carefully balanced because the forehead muscles also help support the eyebrows. Dr. Bogue evaluates each patient’s anatomy and muscle activity before deciding where and how much to inject.

Glabellar Frown Lines

Glabellar lines are the vertical creases that appear between the eyebrows, commonly called the “11 lines.” These wrinkles are created by muscles that pull the eyebrows inward and downward.

Treating this area can stop the repetitive muscle motion and create a smoother appearance between the eyebrows without changing the patient’s underlying facial features.

Crow’s Feet

Crow’s feet form at the outer corners of the eyes from smiling and squinting. Carefully placed BOTOX injections reduce the muscle activity that produces these lines while maintaining a natural appearance.

Why Doesn’t Dr. Bogue Treat Every Possible BOTOX Area?

BOTOX is sometimes advertised for numerous other locations, including the lips, nose, chin, jaw and neck. Dr. Bogue does not offer every possible use simply because it can be performed.

His approach is based on sound anatomical judgment, predictable results and the individual patient’s goals. If a concern is unlikely to respond well to BOTOX, he will explain the limitations and discuss whether another treatment would be more appropriate. For wrinkles caused by volume loss rather than muscle activity, dermal fillers may be more appropriate.

When Will I See Results?

A small bump may be visible immediately after an injection, but it usually disappears within approximately 20 minutes. Patients should not massage the treated area and should avoid working out for the remainder of the day.

Results may begin to appear within 3–5 days and generally last 4–6 months. Most patients choose treatment approximately two to four times per year, depending on how quickly their muscle activity returns.

How Is BOTOX Priced at Dr. Bogue’s Practice?

BOTOX is priced at a flat rate of $250 per treatment area rather than by the unit. The forehead, glabella and crow’s feet are each considered one area.

Dr. Bogue is treating the muscle activity and wrinkles—not simply selling a predetermined number of units. A complimentary touch-up is available one week later when additional treatment is needed in the original area.

BOTOX and filler consultations do not require the practice’s customary $100 cosmetic surgical consultation fee. Same-day treatment may also be available when Dr. Bogue is in the office.
